These Terms and Conditions apply to enrollment in, and payments and donations to, Russian School Los Angeles (the Russian Church-Parish Orthodox School, “the School”, “we”, “us”), 5420 Fernwood Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027. Use of our website is covered separately by our Terms of Use, and our handling of personal information by our Privacy Policy.

By enrolling a student, paying tuition or making a donation, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Enrollment

• Enrollment is completed by a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for providing accurate and complete information about the student, including emergency contacts and relevant medical information.
• Admission requirements, class placement and tuition are described in our Admission and Tuition rules, available on our Documents page.
• The School may decline or end an enrollment in accordance with its rules, including for non-payment or serious or repeated violations of the School Rules.

2. Tuition and fees

• Tuition amounts, due dates and any registration or materials fees are set in the School’s current Admission and Tuition rules and may be updated for each school year.
• Payments may be made by Zelle or by other methods accepted by the School administration. Please include the student’s name with every payment.
• If a payment is late, the School may contact the family to agree on a payment arrangement before taking any further action.

3. Withdrawals and refunds

To withdraw a student, please notify the School administration in writing. Refunds of tuition, if any, are handled according to the School’s Admission and Tuition rules in effect at the time of withdrawal. Registration and materials fees are generally non-refundable unless the School cancels a class.

4. Donations

• Donations support the School’s educational, cultural and spiritual programs and are voluntary.
• Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us within 30 days and we will review your request.
• For questions about receipts or the tax treatment of your donation, please contact the School administration and consult your own tax advisor.

5. School rules and conduct

Students, parents and guardians agree to follow the School Rules and Regulations, available in English and Russian on our Documents page. We expect respectful behavior toward teachers, staff, other students and families, and toward Holy Transfiguration Cathedral, where classes take place.

6. Health and safety

• Parents and guardians must complete the Medical Information form and tell the School about any allergies, medical conditions or needs that may affect the student’s participation.
• Parents and guardians are responsible for bringing students to school and picking them up on time. The School is responsible for supervising students only during scheduled class time and School activities.
• In an emergency, the School will contact the parent or guardian and, if necessary, emergency services.

7. Photos and videos

The School may take photos and videos at classes, celebrations and events and use them on its website, social media and printed materials. We ask for permission before publishing images in which a student can be identified. Parents and guardians may withdraw permission at any time by contacting the School, and we will remove the images from our website and social media.

8. Changes to schedules and programs

The School may change class schedules, teachers, locations or programs, or cancel classes due to holidays, low enrollment, weather, health reasons or other circumstances. We will inform families as early as possible.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the School is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of or damage to personal belongings brought to school. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under California law.

10. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled by the courts located in Los Angeles County, California. We encourage families to first contact the School administration so we can try to resolve any concern informally.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions, for example at the start of a new school year. The version posted on this page applies from its “Last updated” date.
