Russian School Los Angeles (the Russian Church-Parish Orthodox School, “the School”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through www.russianorthodoxschool.com (the “Website”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect
Information you give us. We collect the information you choose to submit, for example when you:
- fill in our contact form (name, email address, phone number, subject and message);
- subscribe to our newsletter (first name and email address);
- make a donation or complete the sponsor/donor form (name, contact details and donation details);
- create an account on the Website or leave a comment (name, email address, username and the content you post);
- ask about enrollment or submit school forms (parent or guardian contact details and information about the student that you provide).
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Website, our servers and service providers automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 5).
Payments. Donations and tuition payments are made through Zelle or other payment methods outside the Website. We do not collect or store credit card or bank account numbers on the Website. We keep a record of the payment itself (amount, date and payer name) for our accounting.
3. How we use information
- to answer your questions and communicate with families about classes, events and school matters;
- to process enrollment, tuition and donations and to keep the records we are required to keep;
- to send our newsletter and event announcements to people who have subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email);
- to operate, secure and improve the Website, including protecting it against spam, fraud and attacks;
- to understand how visitors use the Website through aggregated statistics;
- to comply with the law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
4. Service providers we use
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Website and the School, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Cloudflare: content delivery, security and spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile);
- Google (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads and Google reviews): website statistics, advertising measurement and showing our Google reviews;
- Wordfence: website security and firewall;
- our web hosting provider and email delivery service: hosting the Website and sending emails and newsletters;
- Zelle and your bank: processing payments you choose to make.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of our students, families and staff, or to protect our rights.
5. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use:
- Essential cookies: for logging in, remembering your language choice, security and spam protection;
- Analytics and advertising cookies: Google Analytics and Google Ads use cookies to tell us how visitors find and use the Website.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on and manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings. Our Website does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
6. Children’s privacy
The School serves children, but the Website is intended for parents, guardians and adult visitors. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. Information about students is provided by their parents or guardians. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through the Website, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may publish photos or videos of school events. We ask parents and guardians for permission before publishing images in which students can be identified, and we will remove any image on request.
7. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above: contact messages until your inquiry is resolved, newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and enrollment, payment and donation records for as long as required for school administration, accounting and legal obligations. Technical logs are kept for a limited time for security.
8. Security
The Website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, a firewall and regular backups, and access to personal information is limited to authorized School staff. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you or your child, or to stop sending you emails. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
10. Links to other websites
The Website may link to or embed content from other websites, such as YouTube, Facebook or Google Maps. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Please check this page periodically.
